One Year Later

Written & Photo by Lyndzee Lee

There are so many things no one tells you about losing your baby. The biggest one is going to the doctor. It’s a very hard experience to go back to the OBGYN after losing a baby and expecting to sit in a waiting room with expecting moms. Being asked how many kids you have and having to explain that I have 1 and that he passed away breaks me every time. Seeing people having babies when I don’t have my baby breaks me down, it’s nothing personal, it’s just extremely hard to see babies when mine didn’t survive. It’s been a year since losing my Robert and it still hurts like it was yesterday. I relive the day he was born and the days following his birth almost every night when I go to sleep. Not having him here to celebrate his first birthday and those first holidays has been so hard.
